The Rev. Vicki I Flippin, Senior Pastor The Rev. Vicki I Flippin, Senior Pastor
Rev. Flippin came to Diamond Hill in 2008. She holds a Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and a bachelor’s degree in South Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago. Rev. Flippin was born in Taiwan and baptized into the Methodist Church at Soochow University in Taipei, and she continues to enjoy close relationships with churches in Asia. She grew up in the United Methodist Church in Missouri, where much of her American family resides. Since being called to ministry, Rev. Flippin has worked in a pastoral capacity at First and Summerfield UMC and East Pearl UMC in New Haven, Connecticut and at First UMC in Jefferson City, Missouri. Her interests include advocacy for women, anti-racism, LGBT rights, and mutual dialogue within the global church. She is chair of the New York Annual Conference Commission on Higher Education and Campus Ministry, the charter representative to Greenwich Boy Scouts Troop 10, and an active member of the NYAC Commission on Religion and Race, MIND (an organization working toward LGBT rights in the UMC), and the Greenwich Fellowship of Clergy.
Pastor Don Adams, Associate Pastor Pastor Don Adams, Associate Pastor
A native of Montana, Don Adams was a professional tennis player before becoming a stand-up comedian and actor. He began attending Diamond Hill United Methodist Church with his wife, Mitzi, in 1992. Prior to answering the call to ministry, Don was the Lay Leader for seven years, and was very active in several committees and in the Diamond Hill Theater Company.
  Andrew Gordon, Organist and Director of Music
Andrew Gordon is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School. As well as being music director at Diamond Hill, he is a staff accompanist for Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, appears regularly as a member of the Greenwich Symphony Chamber Players and serves as the accompanist and consultant for the annual Jenny Lind Competition, sponsored by Bridgeport’s Barnum Festival. In addition, he maintains piano studios in Greenwich and at his home in Redding. His choral anthem An Evening Prayer is published by Oxford University Press.

Lay Leadership

 

Administrative Council—Dottie Delo, chair
The Administrative Council is the functional programming and decision-making body of the church. The committee receives reports from other committees and groups in the church and takes key votes, connecting the broad vision of the church with the everyday details of its ministries.

  Board of Trustees—Carol Willson, chair
The Board of Trustees is responsible for keeping up and repairing the property of the church. It also decides property policies, oversees the purchase or sale of property, and recommends to the church whether to accept gifts and bequests.
  Committee on Finance—Carol Willson, chair
The Committee on Finance is responsible for creating the church budget and overseeing the church’s financial stewardship and fundraising.
  Staff Parish Relations—Annie Church, chair
The Staff Parish Relations Committee is responsible for building productive and just relationships between the congregation, the staff, and the pastor. It is responsible for hiring, review, salaries, and communicating the pastoral needs of the church to the annual conference.
  Committee on Lay Leadership—Rev. Vicki Flippin, chair
The Committee on Lay Leadership is responsible for nominating members for all other committees. This group, chaired by the pastor, has as its responsibility, the identification, development, formation, and support of the people who will give leadership in the local church.
  Endowment Committee—Wayne Hemstead, chair
The Endowment Committee is the body that oversees the management and use of the Diamond Hill Endowment Fund. Decisions about how the fund is invested and how a portion of the interest is used are made and reported by this committee.
